San Francisco Decorator Showcase Interior Design

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA

The annual San Francisco Decorator Showcase highlights the work of many of the region’s leading interior designers and design firms. In 2015, ABD STUDIO was selected to design “His Office,” embracing the theme that beauty persists through — or even as the result of — destruction.

Designed as an intimate yet highly expressive home office, the space featured a sculptural custom desk crafted from shou sugi ban wood atop a deeply patinated brass base, paired with an abstract artwork inspired by the distorted visual language of damaged videotape. Throughout the room, artisanal materials, moody textures, and sculptural forms created a dynamic dialogue between refinement and rawness.

The San Francisco designer showcase allowed ABD STUDIO to explore how thoughtful interior architecture, custom furniture design, and collectible contemporary art can elevate compact spaces with depth, atmosphere, and individuality. The result is a workspace that feels both functional and emotionally resonant — reflecting our broader approach to bespoke residential interior design.
