2026 LUXE RED Award Recognition for Jewel Box Space
Studio Notes No. 007
We’re honored to share that a bathroom we designed within a historic Pacific Heights residence in San Francisco has been recognized by LUXE RED Awards 2026 awards as a Regional Winner – Jewel Box Space. This distinction celebrates interiors where compact scale meets thoughtful material layering and thoughtful detail—an approach that shaped the design of this room from the outset.
A Jewel Box Bathroom in a Pacific Heights Home
Conceived as an immersive interior moment within a larger Pacific Heights residential renovation, this bathroom explores the expressive potential of a smaller architectural space.
Wallpaper from House of Hackney establishes the visual framework of the room, wrapping the space in movement, depth and drama. A sculptural washstand from Waterworks anchors the composition and is topped with Cristallo Imperiale quartzite, whose subtle luminosity brings quiet variation to the palette. Brass plumbing fixtures introduce warmth and a touch of sparkle.
Butterfly-form sconces by Jane Hallworth add a sculptural layer of light that reads as jewelry within the space.
Designing Jewel Box Spaces
Smaller rooms often create opportunities to design more immersive interiors—spaces where materiality and atmosphere can be explored more fully within the broader balance of a restrained home. In this bathroom, layered whimsical pattern, quietly expressive stone, warm brass, and decorative lighting work together to create a composition that feels both distinctive and grounded within the architecture of the home.
This recognition marks our first design award—a milestone we’re incredibly proud to celebrate alongside our wonderful client and the collaborators who helped bring this room to life. Presented by Luxe Interiors + Design, the LUXE RED Awards celebrate excellence in residential design across the country, and it’s truly meaningful to see this Pacific Heights bathroom included among this year’s honorees.
