Tahoe Retreat Interior Design

TRUCKEE, CALIFORNIA

Located within Lake Tahoe’s Martis Camp enclave, this modern mountain home was designed as both a summer retreat and winter ski getaway for a San Francisco–based family. Floor-to-ceiling steel windows in the main great room create a sense of transparency, connecting the interiors to the surrounding wilderness. The interior architecture takes a restrained approach to a modern farmhouse aesthetic, balancing clean lines with warmth and texture.

The décor features a thoughtful mix of custom furniture design, vintage interior décor sourced from around the world, and the homeowners’ extensive personal art collection. Throughout the home, layered materials and subtle handcrafted details soften the expansive modern architecture, reflecting the rugged beauty of the mountain landscape while creating a comfortable and inviting family home.
